While traditional Philly cheesesteaks are made with ribeye steak, I used ground beef to keep things simple for this recipe. The ground beef is seasoned to perfection, so it is still full of flavor!

When you make this Philly Cheesesteak Casserole, you’ll need:

  • Ground beef - I use this instead of shaved steak. You can use your preferred fat content, but I usually go with 85/15 or leaner.
  • Worchestershire Sauce - Adds flavor similar to steak and I use it quite a bit!
  • Onion and Green Pepper - You can’t have a classic Philly cheesesteak without these low carb veggies.
  • Seasonings - You’ll want to use salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder to give the casserole extra flavor.
  • Cheese - This recipe uses a combination of provolone and cream cheese.

How to make Philly cheesesteak casserole

Step by step instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the onions and bell peppers. Drain the excess grease from the beef mixture.
  2. Add the beef mixture back to the skillet, and reduce the heat to medium. Season the mixture with the seasonings, and add in the Worchestershire sauce and cream cheese. Stir everything together until the cream cheese is melted.
  3. Spread the mixture into an 8x8 casserole dish, and top the casserole evenly with 6 slices of provolone cheese.
  4. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

    I have made this quite a few times, but something was missing, I added 1 tablespoon of Dale’s Seasoning to the meat mixture in addition to the Worcestershire sauce and it totally enhances the flavor! Love, love, love this recipe!♥️♥️

    I made this recipe with a Colette roast instead of hamburger. I thinly sliced the beef so the chunks of beef were pretty small. It turned out amazing. I skipped the part about putting it in the oven to melt the cheese and put the beef mixture directly on hoagie rolls for my family members and then my special bread for keto and topped it with the cheese. I then put each sandwich in the microwave for 20 seconds to melt the cheese. my husband commented that I need to make sure this recipe is in regular rotation.
