The biggest night in UK music kicked off in style as stars came to south east London this evening for the BRIT Awards 2023 ceremony.

But while the red carpet at the 02 centre was awash with glamorous styles, some celebrities missed the fashion mark -despite their best efforts.

Among the worst dressed at the star-studded bash was singer Sam Smith, who certainly took a major fashion gamble in an extremely fashion-forward outfit.

The Unholy singer sported a shiny black one-piece inflated jumpsuit suit, made from what appeared to be a shiny, latex-style material.

Their one-piece was fashioned into an unusual shape, boasting enormous should pads and sleeves, and large legs, and a zip up the front.

Sam donned black platform boots alongside the fashion-forward outfit, adding several inches to their height.

However, they kept their hair and make-up simple, showing off a natural, fresh-faced look, and short bleach blonde locks, which were combed back.

Finishing the off the look, the singer donned drop earrings, which featured a stud, and an anchor shaped pendant, with a pearl.

Meanwhile, another fan favourite took a spot on the worst dressed list, thanks to his unusual ensemble.

Lewis Capaldi, showed off his inimitable style in a felt-style maroon jacket decorated with embroidered flowers as he took to the red carpet this evening.

The Scottish musician, who is up for the coveted Song of the Year prize with his tuneForget Me, paired the eye-catching jacket with rather more sombre clothes.

He sported black trousers and a black t-shirt underneath the unusual coat, which he paired with plain black trainers.

And singer-songwriter and rapper Ashnikko also chose an eye-catching look, wearing a gown that appeared to be made of a clear, thin rubber fabric.

The musician, who recently shared their new single, You Make Me Sick! - their first single since 2021, paired the frock withtowering perspex platform heels.

They completed the bold look with an eye-catching hair style, with locks cut into a bold, blunt bob, dyed a rich blue tone.

And their make-up was equally creative, with on-trend, barely there bleached eyebrows peeking out from beneath their fringe, alongside an otherwise natural look, with fresh skin and a nude lip.

Megan McKenna also opted for an unusual outfit, ensuring she garnered maximum attention - and a place on the worst dressed list - thanks to her attire.

The TV personality sported a black leather minidress, paired with cowboy-inspired accessories for the highly-celebrated event.

Her minidress, which left very little to the imagination, boasted a miniskirt with daring slits on each side, showing off her toned thighs.

The dress, which featured rhinestone-style decals in a variety of shapes, including crosses, was paired with a host of accessories.

Megan donned a stetson atop her flaming locks, which were styles into very soft waves, and worn in a down do, flowing down her back.

She also wore cowboy-inspired knee high black boots, as well as a pair of leather-look gloves which covered her forearms.

Meanwhile,Tallia Stormalso had all eyes on her - for all the wrong reasons - thanks to her pink and cream garb.

The singer donned a tiny pink bikini, finishing off the ensemble with a giant pair of knee high fur boots, and a large shaggy coat.

Continuing the faux fur theme throughout the rest of the outfit, she also added a large pink furry hat, and carried a tote bag made of the same fabric.

The 24-year-old singer also wore a glistening silver bejewelled chain around her neck with her name attached as a metal pendant.

Her blonde tresses were styled into loose waves, which cascaded past her shoulders, and she wore a soft, natural make-up look, pairing a nude lip with pink blush and a smokey eye.

Tallia appeared confident as she struck a pose or two on the red carpet, smiling at the assembled photographers as she showed off the unusual outfit.

Elsewhere, singer-songwriter Kamille opted for a bold look too, showing off her pregnancy bump in a floor-length turquoise gown.

The final touch to her outfit was statement jewellery in her ears. On one, she wore a gold ear cuff and drop earring, while she adorned her other love with a hoop, and a pearl stud.

Jessie J was another of the celebrities at tonight's event to take a spot on the worst dressed list, thanks to her bold monochrome red outfit.

The ensemble, in a bright scarlet shade, featured a long sleeved top and lace leggings, as well as a cutout on her stomach, to show off her pregnancy bump.

Topping off the outfit, was a coat whichPrice Tag hitmaker Jessie, 34, wore slung around her arms, made from a crimped organza-style fabric, which gave the garment a voluminous statement look.

Leigh Francis also opted for a brash outfit as he took to the red carpet this evening.

The comedian wore a two-piece suit featuring a tartan-style print in a range of hues including fuchsia, black, and mustard.

Underneath the suit, he donned a t-shirt, on which an image of a close-up face was printed. Leigh accessorised with a pink stetson, and black boots with red laces.

Another suit-wearing celebrity to make the worst dressed list was rapper Aitch, who donned two-tone, two-piece suit in powder blue and cream for the event.

Despite boasting some interesting details - like his oversized collar and two-tone blazer lapels, the poor fit of the ensemble meant the outfit, which he paired with box fresh white trainers, missed the mark.

Also making the worst dressed list was singer Ellie Goulding, who rocked up to the O2 Arena sporting an extremely unusual outfit.

The singer donned what appeared to be a solid breastplate-style top, featuring a torso shaped with anatomical details.

Pairing the solid black top, which was strapped around her torso with thin laces, Ellie was snapped beaming as she posed for photos.

The BRIT Awards this evening offered attendees and viewers a star-studded night, with the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy, David Guetta, Lizzo, Harry, Styles and Ella Henderson all performing at the ceremony.
