As a student of D'Evelyn, I Can say D'Evelyn has been a great place for me. I went into 7th grade not knowing anyone but over the years have made many new friends. In additon, I love the passionate teachers we have that truly care about the subjects they teach and hold each student to high standards. This makes D'Evelyn a vigorous and challenging place at times but I believe that I am more prepared for college because of this school. Through the course of attending school here, I have learned so much about myself, how I learn best and how to stay organized to keep me being successful.

D’Evelyn’s a great school for those who are willing to challenge themselves. There isn’t a lot of drug use or violence. However, due to its focus on academics, things like extracurriculars, sports, and “fun” classes are substandard. Due to its difficulty, your GPA suffers. Only colleges in the area compensate for the difficulty on the school in admissions. On the other hand, D’Evelyn really prepares you for college. The students are also a little snobby. Overall, great school for academics, but not for extracurriculars or college admissions.

D'Evelyn was a great school for me. I enjoy learning and D'Evelyn offered me a challenging course load that kept me engaged in learning. The staff at D'Evelyn is very responsive to building relationships with students. For me, the structure was perfect. The days were predictable and the 7th period study hall was a great way to get a head start on homework or get help from a teacher. The Friday clubs were a great way to meet other people who shared my interest along with many activities including sports, band, theater, choir, orchestra, etc... The homework load was a bit excessive at times but fortunately for me, I am very diligent and made it work.
